1. Our commitment

Inspire Care Group is committed to safeguarding adults at risk of abuse or neglect. Everyone who lives in, works in, visits, or contacts our homes has a role in keeping people safe. We promote dignity, choice, and protection from harm.

2. What safeguarding means

Safeguarding is about protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect, while supporting wellbeing and involving the person as much as possible in decisions about their life. Types of abuse can include physical, emotional/psychological, financial, sexual, organisational abuse, neglect, discrimination, and modern slavery.

3. If you are worried

If you are concerned about the safety or wellbeing of a resident, colleague, or visitor:

• Speak immediately to the home manager or person in charge
• If someone is in immediate danger, call 999

You may also raise concerns with the local authority adult safeguarding team or the Care Quality Commission (CQC). You do not need to be certain that abuse has occurred — if in doubt, report it.

4. How we respond

When a safeguarding concern is raised we will:

• Take action to keep people safe
• Record and report concerns in line with our safeguarding procedures
• Cooperate with local authority safeguarding partners, regulators, and other agencies as required
• Support people affected and keep them informed where appropriate

5. Staff responsibilities

All staff receive safeguarding induction and ongoing training appropriate to their role. Safer recruitment, clear reporting routes, and a culture of speaking up are part of how we protect people who use our services.
