1. Our commitment
Inspire Care Group is committed to making this website accessible and usable for as many people as possible, including disabled people and older users. We design and develop to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our standard.
GOV.UK guidance discusses WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 place specific duties on public-sector bodies. Although Inspire Care Group is a privately operated care organisation, we aim for this standard because it is appropriate for the people we support and their families.
2. Accessibility features of this website
The public site is built to support:
- Keyboard navigation for interactive content
- Screen reader–friendly landmarks, labels, and status messages
- Proper heading hierarchy
- ARIA attributes where they improve clarity (for example expanded/collapsed controls)
- High-contrast colour choices and a
prefers-contrastenhancement - Visible focus states on links, buttons, and form controls
- Accessible forms with associated labels, required field cues, and descriptive error messages
- Alternative text for meaningful images
- Captions or transcripts for relevant video and media where published
- Large, readable body text with comfortable line spacing
- Colour contrast that aims to meet WCAG AA for text and user interface components
- Accessible primary and footer navigation
- A skip-to-content link at the start of each page
- Reduced motion when your device requests it (
prefers-reduced-motion)
3. Measures we take
We work to improve accessibility by:
- Using clear language and readable typography
- Providing visible keyboard focus states
- Supporting screen-reader friendly structure (headings, labels, and alternative text where images convey meaning)
- Checking colour contrast for text and interactive elements
- Testing key journeys such as contact forms, visit bookings, and careers applications
- Maintaining this accessibility statement and acting on feedback
4. Compliance status
This website aims to conform with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We continue to identify and fix accessibility issues as part of ongoing site maintenance. Some third-party embeds (for example maps or external video players) may not fully meet accessibility criteria. Where we publish video, we aim to provide captions and/or a text transcript.
5. Feedback and alternative formats
If you find an accessibility problem, need information in another format (for example large print or Easy Read), or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback promptly and tell you what we will do next.
6. Enforcement procedure
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for advice. Public sector organisations also have specific duties under the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018; privately operated care providers should still treat accessible service as good practice and a matter of equality law.
